Welcome to Winnipeg's Jewish Community!
The Jewish Child and Family Service Settlement worker will meet with you and your family for an initial orientation to Winnipeg to assess your needs, explain what services and programs are available, and assist you in:
Newcomer Employment Services
Jewish Child & Family Service assists new immigrants to our community with information about the local job market, employers, service providers and the job search process.
JCFS will assist you and your family in becoming part of the Winnipeg Jewish community. In cooperation with the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg and other Jewish community organizations, it will introduce you to the local resources available to Jewish families, including schools, synagogues, youth programs, camps, kosher facilities etc., and provide you opportunities to participate in community activities and events, meet others and make new friends.
Some social and educational events are planned for adults, while others are organized for the whole family. JCFS also organizes free seminars and workshops on topics that are of interest to newcomers and that will make the transition to Canadian life easier.
One way to help others in our community is by volunteering your time. Contact the Manager of Volunteer Services at 477-7430 to find out how you can help strengthen the lives of others.
